We only have 25 spaces available in the ZedShed and so to ensure that we have a varied selection of stall holders, we ask you to complete the application forms, send them back to us, and we will contact you in mid November.

As far as the Christmas fair is concerned we are holding it so close to Christmas because we are selling the 'Panic Presents' idea. The stalls will be ready to trade at 6pm on Saturday evening and will sell until the last customer leaves. We are working in association with Miss Peapod's Cafe who will be serving drinks, meals, snacks & there will be a band too. The Saturday evening shopping/listen to a band/have a drink was very successful at the art fair and worth repeating. The Sunday will run from 11am - 4pm and include children's activities and entertainment as well as lovely lunches at Miss Peapod's Cafe. If you are interested please email or phone Sandra Wilkinson for an application form.

With less than three months to go until work officially gets underway on the multi million pound Heartlands project in Pool, creative professionals are being invited to register an interest in being included in the Heartlands Arts Directory.

The Heartlands Arts Directory will be a resource for the design teams during the construction phase to identify creative practitioners with the right experience, skills and quality of work to be able to deliver the Creative Commissions at Heartlands over the coming months. The Heartlands Arts Directory will also be a valuable resource for the future Heartlands Trust in developing Creative Projects, such as events and workshops, when Heartlands is opens in March 2010.

We are particularly keen to hear from local makers with a contemporary approach with experience of working on creative and innovative public arts projects.

Call for Information and Dialogue

Date of exhibition: 26 July – 6 September 2009 (preview – 25 July 2009, 6-9pm)
Contact Name: Linda Styles
Contact Phone Number: 01326 312069

Did you study or teach Ceramics at Redruth Art School or Cornwall Technical College in the 60's, 70's or 80's?

Ceramicist Linda Styles has embarked on an exciting project which reflects upon the history and celebrates the tradition of Higher Education vocational study of Ceramics in Cornwall.

The project will culminate in a show whose main focus will be a fascinating archive of ceramics and images, featured craftsmen and women, documented first hand memories and reflections from as early as the late 60's (at Redruth Art School), which will be presented alongside contemporary ceramics made by students and staff that have been connected to the long running HND which is due to finish in June 09, to be replaced by an Fondation Degree in Ceramics (subject to validation).

This celebratory show is already incredibly well supported by all sectors of the ceramic industry, with particular thanks to Rod Shaw-Sands and members of Cornwall Crafts Association who have kindly given the gallery space at Trelowarren to commemorate the rich and vivid history of Ceramic education in Cornwall.

Linda is looking for subjective recollections, factual reference, images and examples of work and thoughts connected to the 'studio pottery' tradition, backlash transitionary 'fine art principled' freeform ceramics and evolvement of modernist design principles that have led us to where we stand today.

If you, or someone you know have any recollections etc, please contact - Linda Styles

The research will culminate in:
Retrospective Exhibition of 'The Ceramics Department' and accompanying archive material (working title)  'Mark of the Hand'  at the Cornwall Crafts Gallery
