– Day 1 a great success! Dance Links 3 is a series of three training days, aimed at dance artists, practitioners and out of school dance providers looking to develop work in schools. The first training day took place on Tuesday 21st October at The Phoenix Arts Centre in Exeter and was a great success! If you
missed the deadline to apply in the South West, it is still possible to attend
day one in another region and then take part in days two and three (Tuesday

If you are a young choreographer between the ages of 15 to 19 or if you work with young people making choreography – we want to hear from you!! Youth Dance England is looking for new dance work created by young choreographers to present at a performance in London in July 2009. They want
to see work that is fresh and communicates with an audience. It could be based
on anything that inspires you…. Your life view, dance itself, what is happening
in the world, relationships, interpreting a piece of music, a film, an image or
a novel. ***NEW*** £20k-25k Part time Activate are offering a contract for an Artistic Director/Choreographer for an exciting cultural exchange project in Blandford, Dorset working with the Gurkha/Nepalese community based at the Queens Royal Signals army camp, schools and community youth groups. Return to Dancing Nepal project funded by Heritage Lottery Fund and Dorset County Council is an 18 month project designed to develop new cultural exchanges and exploration of heritage through dance, poetry, research and cultural celebrations with the Gurkha community at Blandford Army Camp, Blandford local schools and community youth groups by working with highly skilled artists & heritage professionals. The artistic director/choreographer will be contracted to oversee the creation of a fusion dance piece that reflects today¹s British culture and Nepalese culture by working with the Gurkha army trainees. The artistic director would also oversee the development of delivering creative strands of the core choreographic work by working with young people from the Blandford community and in 2 local school settings. Landscapes is a remarkable collection of moving image works that has grown from
the background of the political and cultural history that links the UK and
Australia. Presented internationally as a series of screening programmes, the
works in Figuring Landscapes address questions of ecological survival,
post-industrialism, gender, the touristic gaze, and uniquely in Australia, the
social, political and cultural status of Indigenous people in a post-colonial
society.
