I trained at The Leach Pottery in St Ives, under Janet Leach, 1979/1980.
For over thirty years, my work follows in ‘The Leach Tradition’, and draws influences from Japanese ceramics, medieval pottery and the Cornish mining landscape in which I work. The rich black to rust Tenmoku glaze enhances the form of my large individual Pitchers and Bottles, whilst the quiet hues of the Celadon and Ying Ching glazes inspire the decoration for the Yunomi form. I work with locally produced stoneware clay from which I also throw a range of domestic oven to table ware pottery, for collection and everyday use.

My latest work explores the altered surface of the pot. The form is changed by beating or cutting. Using a simple wash of copper and cobalt gives a rich and subtle range of pinks and blues, adding a depth to the surface. My reduction fired gas kiln is fired to 1320’C. Prices range from £15.00 to £750.00
